Click Start > Arrow next to the Lock button > Restart to restart your computer.

Press the F8 key as the computer restarts until the Advanced Boot Options menu is displayed on the screen.

Note: before the Windows logo appears on the screen, you must press F8. The Advanced Boot Options menu will not appear on the screen if you press F8 after the Windows logo appears. If the Advanced Boot Options menu is not displayed, restart the computer and repeat this step until you see the menu on the screen.

Press the Down arrow to select the Repair Your Computer option on the Advanced Boot Options menu, and then press Enter. Select the settings of your language and then click Next.

Click Next in the Restore Dell Factory Image window. Check the box that reads Yes, reformat the hard drive and restore system software to conditions in the factory, followed by Next.

The computer is now restored to its factory default settings. Click Finish to restart your computer once the restore operation is complete.
